The Value of the Prize

Reading: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Devotional: Athletes train relentlessly for medals that tarnish and fade. Yet how often do we give half-hearted effort to the eternal crown awaiting us? The incorruptible crown and everlasting life in God's presence demands our complete devotion. Consider this: the effort you invest reflects the value you place on the prize. Are you training spiritually with the same intensity as an Olympian trains physically? Today, assess your spiritual disciplines. Are you reading Scripture daily? Praying consistently? Gathering with believers? This incorruptible crown isn't won by occasional effort but by daily surrender. Remember, you're not running for something that fades—you're running for eternity.

Reflection: What adjustments do you need to make in your spiritual training regimen? What does you spiritual efforts say about the value of the prize?

We aren’t running this race for things that fade but we are running eternity!

n

nThe enemies #1 goal is to get us tripped up and unfocused on the real prize. And you don’t have to be a believer for that to happen! He is aiming to deceive anyone, any age, any gender, any ethnicity. And it’s with even the simplest of things.

n

nI pray we all recognize where the enemy is strategically trying to trap us and refocus, readjust and RUN towards the prize of HEAVEN!

Every person is involved in this race. Many speakers have referred to all humans as the human RACE. I will not WALK to eternity but remembering Philippians 3:14 “I PRESS toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

So many think gathering together is not necessary, 24/7 church online is fine yet Hebrews 10:24-25 commands believers not to give up on assembling, encouraging one another even more as "the Day" draws near. We must read our Bibles, study the Word and pray without ceasing but also we need to gather together, we need each other.
