Here I Am, Not Alone
Reading: Psalm 23
Devotional:
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." This isn't a promise that we'll avoid the valley—it's a promise that we won't walk through it alone. Firefighters, Police Officers, EMT, healthcare workers, and countless others step into the darkness created by humanity's fallen nature. They face evil's aftermath, yet they go because someone must.
Your valley may not be a burning building, but you face darkness nonetheless. Depression, grief, financial crisis, relational breakdown—these are the valleys where God's presence becomes most real. The rod and staff that comfort you are instruments of both protection and guidance. You're not fighting alone. The King of Kings, whose robe is stitched with every victory, walks beside you. His presence transforms the valley from a place of death to a pathway of testimony. Remember, He shows up for the walk.
Reflection Question: What valley are you walking through today? How can you become more aware of God's presence with you there?
