The Glory Has Not Departed
Reading: 1 Samuel 4:19-22; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Devotional: When the Ark was captured, they cried, "The glory has departed!" But they misunderstood where God's glory truly resided. The glory was never meant to be contained in a box—it was always meant to dwell in people. Samuel discovered this truth. While others mourned the lost Ark, Samuel remained in God's presence and heard His voice. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. God's presence isn't dependent on circumstances, buildings, or religious artifacts—it lives in you. When everything around you seems chaotic, when it feels like God is distant, remember: if you're in Christ, the glory has not departed. The voice of God still speaks. His presence still dwells. He still shows up for the walk. Don't mistake external losses for spiritual absence. The glory is in you.
Reflection: How have you mistaken external circumstances for God's absence? How does knowing you carry His presence change your perspective?
