Obedience Over Sacrifice

Reading: 1 Samuel 2:27-36; 3:11-18

Devotional: Eli's downfall teaches us that delay is disobedience. God spoke clearly, repeatedly warning him about his sons' behavior, yet Eli turned a blind eye into a deaf ear. His disobedience didn't just affect him—it cost his entire family their priestly heritage. God desires obedience above sacrifice. He's not looking for grand gestures while we ignore His clear instructions. Samuel, though young and uncomfortable, obeyed by delivering God's difficult message to Eli. Obedience may cost you comfort, relationships, or reputation, but Disobedience will cost you purpose. When God speaks, immediate obedience honors Him and protects your legacy. Your children's children will either benefit from your obedience or suffer from your disobedience. What has God been telling you to do that you've been postponing?
